Payment

  • Payment for each individual Lifeforming training program is to be made in full before beginning the training program.
  • All Self-Study programs require online registration and online payment in full prior to obtaining access to the program. These are asynchronous training programs.
  • Each Lifeforming Professional Coach Training program requires online registration and online payment prior to obtaining access to online material. These programs also require attendance and participation in the synchronous training sessions with the trainer.
  • Due Date for payment is at the time of registration for the program. For inquiries concerning payment, contact info@lifeformingcoach.com.
  • Alternative payment options for two payments are available by contacting our office at info@lifeformingcoach.com. In the event alternative arrangements are made for two payments, there will be a $100 administrative fee added at the time a payment plan is set up.
  • Failure to pay in full or make the initial payment as agreed upon with the office will result in dismissal from the program after a 14-day grace period. Any individual who is in arrears will not be permitted to begin another program. No individual will be certified until the entire program fee has been paid in full.
  • Refunds will not be given after the second week (14 days) of the start date of the program. Refunds that are given in the first 14 days will be less a $100 administrative fee.

Dropping a Program

  • Counting the Cost Upfront Registering for a training program should be evaluated by Trainees realistically and taken seriously. Training involves a commitment of time, energy, and finances. Counting the cost of these before registering is recommended by Lifeforming. Your full participation impacts your Peer, Trainer, and Cohort, not only your experience.
  • Notification that you intend to drop out is the Trainee’s responsibility. Notify the Lifeforming office at info@lifeformingcoach.com as soon as possible should you decide to drop the program. No refunds will be given unless the office receives notification by email within 14 days of the start date of the program. All training materials will be returned and/or deleted from all electronic locations and the office notified when such actions are completed.
  • Refunds will not be given after the second week (14 days) of the start date of the program. Refunds that are given in the first 14 days will be less a $100 administrative fee.

Dealing with Problems Between Peers

During a Lifeforming peer relationship there may be times when the relationship’s success is hindered by a breakdown between peers, such as one peer missing appointments, not completing assignments, exhibiting a bad attitude, or personality clashes between peers.

A lack of commitment on the part of a peer or a personality clash between peers will likely have the effect of diluting the Lifeforming learning experience. When any of the above circumstances or conflicts is present in a peer relationship, peers should follow the following chain of redress:

  • First, peers need to attempt to resolve the situation on their own with the mind and heart of a coach.
  • Second, take the issue to the Trainer. If the peers have not attempted reconciliation on their own, the Trainerwillguide them in doing so. As needed, the Trainerwill step in, assess the circumstances, and attempt to mediate the situation. Pointing Trainees to the values of a Lifeforming Coach, relating the purpose of a peer in the training process, and the working of experiential transformation are key elements of training from the inside out. Trainerswill inform their supervisor when they are involved in mediation.
  • Third, if the Trainer is unable to handle and bring resolve to the conflict, the conflict will be forwarded to the Trainer’s Supervisor.

The Training Supervisor has the authority to adjust a peer relationship if mediation is not able to bring resolve to conflict.

Handling Peer Dropouts

Any Trainee who drops out of a Lifeforming program will be reported to the Lifeforming office and to the Training Supervisor. In the case where the loss of a Trainee will leave another Trainee without a peer relationship, Lifeforming will do one of the follow:

  • We will reconnect the remaining peer to a new peer.
  • In situations where a new peer is not available, we will connect the remaining peer to another peer partnership, creating a threesome.
  • In rare circumstances where option one and two are not viable, the peer’s coach will be assigned the peer role.

Note that persons taking the Implementation track can finish the track without a peer.

Not Completing the Requirements Equals No Training Certificate

The following points constitute grounds for Lifeforming to not certify an individual as a Lifeforming coach:

  • If all course requirements are not completed, including the missing of required workshops.
  • If full payment of tuition or fees related to manuals or other course materials is not paid.

Lifeforming also reserves the right to refuse certification to individuals we believe do not fit the criteria for becoming Lifeforming Coaches due to character issues and/or not complying with the code of ethics, or lack of competence in coaching skills. The decision to deny certification would be based on the following criteria:

  • A lack of competence in coaching skills as observed in the grading grid for any of the training program.
  • The comments of the individual’s Trainer regarding concerns over their grasp of coaching skills.
  • Character/ethical issues observed by administration or the individual’s Trainer, such as lack of follow-through with assignments, multiple missed appointments, dishonesty or cheating during the training process, or breaches of the coaching code of ethics.
  • Character issues observed as a pattern of broken, dysfunctional relationships. In this case the individual is unable to establish a vital peer, client, or coaching relationship, exhibited in multiple requests to change peers or Trainers (defined as two or more times during Lifeforming training) or peers requesting to be removed from the relationship.
  • Exhibiting a general lack of embracing of Lifeforming values for the coaching process and competencies, coaching values, or Lifeforming as a coaching organization.

If Lifeforming questions a person’s competency to coach, either based on poor performance or character issues, the following course of action will be taken:

  • Trainers will have made every effort to address the observations with the client during the training process.
  • The individual will receive notification at the end of the program they are currently enrolled in of the concerns about their performance.
  • Remedial work will be agreed upon for the Trainee to improve to acceptable level in cases where that is applicable before any certificates will be granted. Additional charges for additional time investment may apply.
  • The individual will be placed on a probationary status during their next program when applicable.
  • The individual’s performance during their next program will be noted. If sufficient progress is not made in the area needing improvement by the middle of the program, they will be notified and engaged to begin remedial work prior to the end of the program. The individual will be denied a certificate of completion in both programs until the successful completion of the improvement plan. Remedial plan will be offered at the expense of the individual, which the individual may or may not choose to continue developing as a coach toward certification.

Multiple Track Policy

Following are Lifeforming policies for individuals wishing to take multiple tracks. Final decisions are to be made by the Lifeforming office staff:

  • Degree students in the master’s in coaching program can take multiple tracks at one time as called for in the degree program. (Full-time students must take multiple tracks at once to complete the program.)
  • Tracks that may not be taken together:
    • All three at once (ACT/Formation, Life Focus and Implementation.)
    • Implementation and the Trainer Track.

Lifeforming Exceptions Policy

All requests for exceptions to Lifeforming policies (requests to take multiple tracks, requests to change peers or coaches, etc.) must be made in writing to the Lifeforming Registrar. The registrar will then contact the necessary individuals to ascertain whether the exception will be granted (for instance, the individual’s trainer, the coaching supervisor, the Director of Training, etc.) No exceptions will be granted except by a written approval signed by the Lifeforming Director of Training.

Lifeforming Trainer Grading Guidelines

This process is for use during the final training appointment as the outcomes for the program are reviewed. Circle the number of points the trainee has earned as you evaluate each outcome. Add up points from outcomes, then subtract for rescheduling, incomplete work or missed appointments to get a final score. Please return all scores to the Lifeforming office. Lifeforming also tracks Trainee attendance at workshops, group coaching- and virtual sessions. Any absences that have not been made up will be subtracted from the Trainee’s grade by the Lifeforming office. A passing score as described in the program is required. Remedial work is an option and may require additional investment by the Trainee.

A few notes on grace: Occasionally a Trainee may have rescheduled a lot, or often didn’t show up with work completed, and ends up with a poor grade. If a person reschedules without notice two or three times during a program, or comes with incomplete work two or three times, it is the Trainer’s responsibility to address the situation as it happens. Make inquires along the lines of, “What do we need to do to make sure this doesn’t happen again?”

On incomplete work, give grace if the person has misunderstood the schedule and did the wrong assignment or just overlooked something. We “give grace and maintain the standard” by asking the Trainee when he or she can have that assignment completed, then ask them to e-mail you evidence when they’ve completed it. If the trainee follows through and finishes the assignment, it is not counted against them in the grading.

If Trainee starts out with a pattern of missed appointments or incomplete work, it is addressed, and the behavior is decisively corrected in the second half of the program, that is a successful outcome. If a person makes major changes due to addressing an issue in the coaching context, celebrate, that is what we are shooting for!

On the other hand, expectations for attendance and completing work are clearly laid out at the beginning of the course and are listed in writing in the syllabus. The grading system was established to measure coaching competencies.
